Clinton du Plessis 

(Cookhouse, 1963)

Nació en 1963 en Cookhouse en la provincia del Cabo Oriental en Sudáfrica. Poesía y cuentos cortos publicados en una serie de periódicos. Escribe principalmente en afrikaans. Ha publicado cuatro libros de poesía y una colección de historias cortas. 

Life was easy, but it was boring

ayer fue miércoles,

leí el diario,

desayuné,

esperé la luz verde en un semáforo,

estacioné el coche,

junto a un parquímetro,

clasifiqué correspondencia,

me tomé un té a las 10.15,

deposité dinero en la cuenta número 2,

hice un llamado a ?,

me soné la nariz con un pañuelo garyplayer, 

encendí el aire,

encontré soluciones a problemas,

recibí cartas,

me até los cordones,

miré por la ventana a las 14.30,

fui al médico a las 15.45,

de vuelta en casa me corté las uñas,

me acosté temprano,

ayer fue jueves, 

leí el diario,

desayuné, oí una explosión de bomba, vi gente morir,

me até los cordones & me fui a tomar una coca al wimpy bar.

ontbyt geëet,

by die verkeerslig gewag,

motor parkeer,

by ‘n meter,

briewe sorteer,

tee gedrink om 10.15,

geld gedeponeer in rekening nommer 2,

oproep gemaak na ?,

neus gesnuit in ‘n gary player sneusie,

die lugreëlaar aangeskakel,

antwoorde gevind op probleme,

pos grekry in die bussie,

skoenveters vasgemaak,

deur die venster gekyk om 14.30,

dokter gesien om 15.45,

tuis naels geknip,

vroeg gaan slap,

gister was donderdag,

koerant gelees,

ontbyt geëet, ‘n bom hoor bars, mense sien sterf,

my skoenveters vasgemaak & coke gaan drink by die wimpy bar.
